When searching online about Hueston Woods State Park, I found that there were many different websites with different content of information about Hueston Woods and the events, activities, and services offered. When I searched the words "Hueston Woods State Park" the first few websites that are shown are from state park websites that include information about Hueston Woods, but not the website from Hueston Woods themself.
I started researching Hueston Woods and looked online at the different websites they had. I looked at the websites to see what kinds of information they post there. I found that details of events, activities, and services are included on the Hueston Woods Lodging and Conference Center website.
I interviewed three people who are visitors of Hueston Woods State Park. I also interviewed a former employee of Hueston Woods, who worked as a camp counselor during the summers.
What I found out from visitors is that they struggled with finding information about the different events, services and activities offered at Hueston Woods.
I learned during the interview with the former Hueston Woods employee that visitors were not confused exactly, but they did ask questions about what events were currently happening.
Based on the information from visitors of Hueston Woods State Park, I was able to create a User Journey Map to find an area of improvement in the journey of a visitor of Hueston Woods. I was able to create two different user journey maps based on the two different types of visitors of Hueston Woods.
Nate is 35 years old, a husband, and father to 2 young children. He likes spending his free time outdoors, taking walks with his family, watching sports, going to museums, and photography. He likes to take his children to the public park and to Hueston Woods during the weekends.
Lisa is a 30 year old realtor agent. She likes to spend her free time hiking, walking with her friends, archery, and traveling. She likes to go to Hueston Woods a few times a week.
