My initial idea was to create posters and flyers that could be placed around the park that promoted the different events, services, and activities offered at Hueston Woods.

In class we spent class time in a group brainstorming different potential ideas for our projects. In my group some of the potential ideas I received were making a website, updating Hueston Woods' website, an app, flyers, and an interactive map.
I wanted to make an app for Hueston Woods because based on my user interviews and my personal experience visiting Hueston Woods State Park, I thought it was important that there was a place where visitors can find all information quickly and easily. I also thought this was important for families with younger children because they are not able to spend long periods of time searching for information all around the park.
The app will include features that will allow the users to easily find information not only about the various services and activities that are available but also to see current and future events and view hiking trails.
Families with younger children and adult individuals who visit Hueston Woods State Park need a way to easily find information about the different services and activities offered at Hueston Woods State Park because they do not want to nor have the time to spend a long time seeking out information about the services and activities offered at Hueston Woods State Park.
I decided to make an app for Hueston Woods to be able to have a place where all the information needed about events, services, and activities at Hueston Woods would be more easily accessible for families with younger children. I also wanted to incorporate the idea of an interactive map, from the brainstorming group session. This would make using the app a much more efficient way for visitors, but especially for families with younger children, to find information quickly and easily.
